Mechanics: The action functions correctly. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition. The bottom metal has some scattered finish loss, dings, and discoloration from oxidation. The front sight base has some scrapes into the edges on the bottom of the barrel. There are some spots of oxidation, most noticeable on the rear of the bolt, right of the barrel at the front, and on the nosecap. There are some light scuffs and spots of thinning on the metal. Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 85% of its metal finish. The stock rates in about Very Good overall condition.īore Condition: The bore is semi-bright and the rifling is deep and sharp. The plate is bright and has scattered little nicks and a few spots of discoloration from previous oxidation. The LOP measures 13 inches from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate.

There is a crack on the top of the handguard at the front and another crack on the right side of the buttstock at the rear. The wood shows several scrapes, scratches, and compression marks, some have removed portions of surface wood, most noticeable at the heel and toe.

The sides of the stock washer are marked with two “WaA63” waffenamts. The floorplate tang is marked with two “WaA63” waffenamts. The right side of the barrel is marked with two “WaA63” waffenamts. The front floorplate screw and its locking screw are both marked “eagle / 63”.
The magazine follower is marked with an eagle over faded numbers and “39”. The top of the bolt release, side of the bolt release, and its screw are marked “eagle / 63” and the top is also marked “39”. The top of the front sight is marked “39”. The front of the bayonet lug is marked “39” and the right is marked “eagle / WaA63”. The left of the nosecap is marked “39” and the right is marked “eagle / WaA63”. The underside of the rear sight is marked “eagle / 63” twice and “39”. The left of the barrel band is marked “39” and the right is marked “eagle / WaA63”. The top of the chamber is marked “7,9”. The floorplate, floorplate tang, and front floorplate screw are marked “39”. The top of the rear sight base is marked “39”, “eagle / 63” and with a faded waffenamt, the bottom of the slider is marked “39” and “eagle / 63”. The left side of the barrel shank is marked “39 / m” and has “eagle / swastika”. The right side of the receiver is marked with three “eagle / 63” inspection stamps. The left side of the receiver is marked with a Nazi “eagle / swastika”, ”39 / m”, “X” and “Mod. The top of the receiver is marked “42 / 1938”.
